Which of the following makes it easier for you to change, a reward or a punishment? This morning our focus is on a God who punishes. It can be difficult to take God seriously when we hear lessons about love and hell at the same time. Many have given up on God because they can’t fathom that a God who claims to love them would send them or anyone to eternal punishment. How do we live with this? Join us this morning to discover how a loving God lives with the reality of Hell.

We are continuing our walk to the cross and the resurrection with Jesus. On our way, we are listening and wrestling with some difficult teachings of Jesus. This morning our focus is a time we see Jesus behave differently than usual. He greets a woman, and he seems uncharacteristically mean to her. Does this moment give us permission to do the same? We’re used to people making things vague. Some folks are great a spinning answers and skirting facts. Clarity is a gift, and it’s great to have a Lord who is clear. Our challenge is that we often don’t like Jesus’ clarity. Have you ever struggled with a difficult word from Jesus? Today, we’re going to talk about dealing with Jesus’ difficult teachings. We’ll use a specific example, then be talking about how to deal with others. If you’ve ever struggled to understand what God may be saying to you, this is the morning for you.
