We’re excited that Christmas is coming. If we’re being totally transparent, many of us are also stressed that Christmas is coming. These weeks are usually filled with planning, shopping, decorating, and other things. That doesn’t feel like what we mean when we call Advent the season of preparation. Where is the “peace” that the season is supposed to represent? Everyone wants their Christmas time to be special and beautiful, but how do we keep from losing the truth in the midst of all of the cultural and worldly pressures? Join us this week as we discuss how to focus on the things that matter during this season. Let’s “Prepare a Straight Path” together.
We’ll be live on Facebook at 11:00, or you can watch at any time on Facebook or YouTube. Click here for video
Here is some information to help you participate if you’re joining us online:
- The response to our interactive opening prayer is, “We wait in the just peace of the coming Messiah.”
- The songs are “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” and “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light.” Look up the words online, and you can sing along.
- The Bible reading is Isaiah 40:1-11 and Mark 1:1-8.
- Share a prayer request in the comments. It can be praise for God doing something good in your life or a challenge where you hope to see God move in a particular way. Please let us know how God is moving in your life.
- Share an offering in our app in Givelify or send a check to the church.
We’re looking forward to worshipping with you. Have a blessed Lord’s Day, everyone!
