Worship with Us Today – August 4

1 John 5:14–15 tells us, “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” We know, love, and trust God. Still, we all have been disappointed when God didn’t move as hoped in a prayer. This reality causes a lot of people to doubt God. Today, we’ll wrestle with doubts that come when prayers go unanswered.

• Our opening prayer is interactive. This prayer is a moment for us to affirm our faith collectively. Respond, “Praise be to God!”

• The Bible readings are 1 Kings 19:1-9, Philippians 4:4-7, and Luke 22:39-44.
